Waste to Energy System
ZoharX is a decentralized waste-to-energy system developed by Zohar CleanTech, offering an on-site solution to the growing global challenge of municipal solid waste (MSW). As urban areas face rising waste volumes, landfill saturation, and the escalating costs of collection and transportation, the need for local, sustainable alternatives becomes increasingly urgent. ZoharX addresses this by converting unsorted household waste directly into energy — eliminating landfill dependency and significantly reducing emissions and urban waste traffic.
Unlike traditional systems, ZoharX requires no recycling infrastructure or pre-sorting. The fully enclosed unit processes mixed waste at the source, producing clean energy and a stable, usable byproduct (slag). Designed to operate within residential, commercial, and municipal spaces, it utilizes existing waste collection areas with minimal disruption to the built environment. The unit is based on a standard mobile lift platform used for garbage disposal trucks, enabling fast installation, easy maintenance, and seamless integration with current municipal service practices.
The key design challenge was developing a safe, self-contained, and easy-to-use unit that fits within dense city environments. The industrial design approach focused on a compact, modular form factor, intuitive access points for waste input, and a neutral aesthetic that blends into a variety of architectural contexts. The exterior features clear separation between technical and user zones, durable cladding, and a bold green accent that communicates its environmental mission while maintaining a professional, civic-friendly presence.
ZoharX represents a new generation of urban waste solutions—engineered for performance, and designed for everyday integration.
